Induction:

PRECISION PERFORMANCE FOR LIMITED CONNECTION OPTIONS

The 4-inch I.D. Inductive Coupler (Optional 8” Flexi-Coupler) is an essential non-contact tool designed to safely apply a traceable signal to live cables, pipes, and circuits when a direct connection is not possible. By utilizing electromagnetic induction, this coupler allows you to energize and trace underground utilities or identify specific breakers without breaking insulation or shutting down power. It is engineered for reliability in the field, ensuring you can maintain productivity without compromising safety.

Key Features

This inductive coupler enables the induction of a traceable signal into energized or protected lines, such as copper communication cables, where direct contact is prohibited or impossible. It offers a safe, efficient way to measure or trace utilities without equipment downtime.

Provides a higher degree of safety by avoiding exposed electrical parts, it is a specialized tool for professionals who need to navigate ridges and transitions in utility locating.

Kit Includes

4-inch Internal Diameter (I.D.) Inductive Coupler equipped with a heavy-duty connection cable compatible with 6 Pin Mav Traq transmitters.

Optional Flexi Coupler. Allows you to wrap around larger diameter electrical conduits.

Specifications

The coupler features a 4-inch (8” on Flexi-Coupler) internal diameter and operates across a frequency range of 8kHz to 82kHz. It is designed for use with 3-watt or 10-watt transmitters and is generally compatible with professional line transmitters supporting frequencies up to 262 kHz. It is capable of measuring up to 600 amps AC on energized lines.

This tool is essential for utility locating professionals, electrical contractors, agricultural specialists, and drainage contractors who need to trace underground lines or measure amperage on energized conductors safely.

Proudly Made in the USA

Our products are designed, assembled, and shipped with pride from our facility in the Midwest.

WARNING! READ!

This tool is designed to detect electromagnetic fields emitted from cables and buried metallic utilities. There are buried cables, pipes, and utilities this instrument CANNOT detect. LOCATING is not an exact science. The only certain way to be sure of the existence, location, or depth of buried utilities is to carefully expose (dig up) the utility.

WARNING! Use this tool only for the intended purpose as described in this manual. Failure to follow these warnings could result in serious injury or death.

SHOCK HAZARD! Lethal voltages may be present at the transmitter's output. Turn off the transmitter before touching test lead or any un-insulated conductor. Make connection to ground and target conductor before turning on transmitter. Do not connect to live voltage or active utility lines. De-energize any circuits in or around the work area. Do not connect to utilities, cables or pipes without authorization and training. Only persons who understand, are qualified, licensed and trained in utility locating may use this equipment in that capacity.

HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT! Do not expose yourself to hazardous chemicals, hazardous gas, or explosive environment. Do not connect to utilities, cables or pipes without authorization and training. Only persons who understand, are qualified, licensed and trained in utility locating may use this equipment in that capacity.

NATURAL GAS! Be aware of the presence of NATURAL GAS. No location should ever be assumed, or work performed without the consultation of proper authority, authorization, and supervision!

IMPORTANT! Follow appropriate safety procedures, your companies’ policies, safety codes and all laws. CALL “811” BEFORE YOU DIG!

WATER RESISTANCE! This equipment is designed with a level of water resistance. Like all electronic devices, it is best to avoid exposure to rain or moisture. In the event of exposure, dry the unit off and store in a dry place with the case open for at least 24 hours. The housing on both the receiver and transmitter are production sealed. That seal will be compromised if units are disassembled for any reason.

OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE! Consultation and use of this unit are available by calling Maverick, Inc. at (800) 685-2818
